DeleteThe ideas that influenced American writers from the European Romantic period are the power of the individual; an obsession with extreme experiences, including fear, love, and horror; an interest in nature and natural landscapes; and an emphasis on the importance of everyday events. this might appeal to them because it is a new land and the people came their to escape from bondge to be free and in their freedon the would start to think because they were educated.

ReplyDeleteI believe that ideas based on history and reasoning is a more reliable source of gathering information. When doing a history assignment you have to go out and get your resources. History is based on some ones experience in the past and how it paved the road for the future. The way how you may interpret history is based on you and how you reason it out.
I understand your reasoning in support of history/rational thought, but does that perspective apply to all areas of life? Can history serve us best in all aspects of our lives? Is there room for imgaination and creativity? If so, where do you see that applying in your life?

These ideas are considered appealing to America because it shows praise to American landscape and emphasize the idea of the glorification of their beautiful home country.

ReplyDeleteI believe that ideas based on history and reason are the most reliable sources of knowledge. I agree with this because it is clearly facts taken from the time of the historical idea and was able to be reasoned or broken down by individual who understood it. Imagination is a good way to assist in thinking as a source but it isn't always guaranteed reliable.
What influenced European Writers of the Romantic Period was the ability of an individual's greatness along with the experience of intense settings or situations. The most reliable source would be based off of history and reason because based on the past, you can obtain new understandings and new assumptions about any topic.

I believe that ideas based on history would be more of a reliable source because any ideas that are based on history most likely come from a primary source, which is a first hand document or a persons experience. Ideas based on individual intuition and imagination wouldn't be as reliable because that would be more of a persons opinion which could be false.

1. Some ideas that influenced American literature during the romantic period was the creativity of the author. This creativity would come from experiences, lifestyle, stories they heard, and just what type of person they were.

ReplyDeletePOST 1- America starting off as a new country would have to be built from the ground up with a backbone of certain beliefs. the ideas that were influenced was were real life experiences, religious beliefs, the feeling of love and also the natural world itself. these ideas would tremendously impact America.

Imagination is what makes us unique, we all have different imaginative boundaries whatever they may be and yes at time they wouldn't be logical but no great event was made without the use of a persons imagination.
