    1. Olivier your response is very superficial. The goal of this post is to visually analyze the various pictures from the artists and THINK about what they were inspired by and why. Also your answer to the second question doesn't make sense...again look, read and think about why the artists are choosing to paint these pictures. What do they want people to know or think about from seeing these images? In the third answer you should use your prior knowledge of American history at this time to answer the question.

  2. These images were inspired by nature in its most amazing yet mysterious form. The message I feel they are attempting to send is how the setting or one's surrounding can possibly provoke intense emotions such as jubilation or satisfaction. These images greatly relate to the 19th century because a lot of land was unexplored at the time. As a result, there were many wonders of what they never saw and what is was like. This images overall reflected in a sense the expectations American people in the 19th century pertaining to the unknown.

    1. I like your reply to these questions because you did not just answer it straight forward you talked about how the 19th century was still an era of exploration with the Americans believing that they should settle all the way to the West. So the period of manifesting can be strongly connected with the painting. Good job

  3. the source of inspiration of these images were nature and landscaping. i think the message these artists are trying to send out with their work is looking at whats around us in a different unique view. these images connect to the experience of Americans during the early 19th century by the image how its drawn and what is seen which is really not much but land and naturally frown things because back then nothing was really built or changed.

    1. I understand what you are trying to say with your explanation but in order for it to be more clear, you need to elaborate on the component of your response where you stated "a different unique view" because it's pretty vague.

  4. The source of inspiration came from the beautiful surrounding of nature. The message i think that the artists are trying to send is to look around your surrounding and you would realize that it is the most beautiful place that you every see. These images would relate to Americans during the 19th century because during the 19th century the landscape was mostly forest just like the images. The villages during these times was very small and surrounded by wilderness.

The message I think these artists are trying to get across is to look at your surroundings carefully and you will see that nature isn't just trees grass and whatever else you find on the ground and that it can be something more. 1. I think your thoughts are great but they need to be a little bit more developed. I like your response to bullet 1 and 2 but I think that your third bullet point could've been addressed even more into details. Good job

  6. The source of inspiration was mainly nature and the environment. Thomas Cole was the founder of the Hudson River School. I believe the articles were trying to say that their work was not easy, but yet very successful and it was based on the beauty of nature. The images were trying to say that there were more natural landscape available in the 19th century. The images shows us that there was almost more space available than nowadays

  7. The source of inspiration for these artists was nature and I think the message they want to communicate with their work was that nature has a lot to offer and the beauty of it just brings joy and favor to them. American during the 19th century was a period of love. Nature is loved and adored by all and the best was to feel romance is when you are connecting with not just the people involved but also nature.

    1. Why do you feel the images are inspired by a period of love towards nature rather than the admiration of nature and the mysteries it may contain?

  10. The source of inspiration for these artists was nature, they were able to see things beyond what the human eyes can see and actually bring it to life. I think that the message that they wanted to communicate was that one has to go above and beyond what it seen and actually connect with their self. Being that in the 19 century it was a period of love I think it connects to nature because thinking about it a representation of love are roses. Roses with no soil even on a bigger scale nature there will be none if there wad no where yo grow them. Nature can be seen also as a way for one to relax and actually find their inner person and be at peace.

    1. I feel your response would be much better if you attempt to interpret how these artists were able to look beyond what the human eyes see. Try to explain how their unique mind set affected their works of art.

  11. I think Dante said it pretty well. I feel this picture not only depicts a setting or surrounding, but a feeling and tone of the time period it is had been created in, a feeling of mystery and "newness." In the picture there are a lot of "untackled land", specious grassland, but also partly gray clouds and tilted trees creating a sense of edge, which directly relates to the feelings of those in the 19th century in regards to unknown land, unknown wild life; as one ye may find love in the sight, while another may not.

I believe that the message the author is trying to make is that nature is a form of art and is trying to get people to appreciate it as much they do.
these images relate to the experience of the Americans during the early 19th century because in the 19th century the settings were similar, their were allot of opened land,f there weren't allot of homes and buildings all over

  16. After looking at several images I believe the artists wanted to share what they saw and how the world looked to them. I would say their inspiration came from the beauty of the world. The artists want the viewers to experience the world in a way they never could and appreciate the geography in a new way. They connect in the way that these individuals were trying something different and brought their own style to the world.

  17. i believe that the source of inspiration for these artists were nature and the beauty of the world. the message the artist wants people to communicate with their work is that nature is beautiful and not just grass, trees and and what we see around us but people need to take time and explore and appreciate nature. the artist want people to see that its a nice place people can go on for dates and just to go relax and free their minds. These images are connected to the americans during the early 19th century because during that time the people were trying to say something different and that they didnt have so many houses over.
